I had incredible endurance that season, so much so I would leave my Riddell on and buckled up at water break but as I posted lost strength. Bench went from 375 to barely 300. That was clean no juice. Stay away from the steroid ****. Buddies of mine that I lifted with that were powerlifters and one bodybuilder are beacoup screwed physically now. Hair loss, organ issues and even viagra barely helps them. Start by setting a time goal when you start your training cycle and try to shave off a few seconds every couple days. Full disclosure, I never replicated that effort because of a change in coaching staff the following year and I vowed to never lose strength like that again.
Nice thats a solid bench. My best is 350lbs.
I just got to where I can do 100 pushups in a row this year after 10 years of training. It probably my best physical feat. I train now for functional strength and endurance. The world is a crazy place I am always ready to throwdown though.

LOL, I ran track in high school. We won the state championship track meet my senior year. Normally I ran the 880. I was the ninth guy on the team in that event. Our team took first in state in the 880, three guys on the team qualified for state in that event; we also took first in the two mile relay and first in the sprint medley. It may appear fast but not compared to my buddies. And it was a long time ago when times were slower. Top guys on the team ran a 1:50 in the 880; our top miler went 4:09 or so in the mile.
I ran the 220 and 440 in HS, I weighed around 145 at the time. I was a second off the NY state record for the 220 and 2 seconds off the 440 record. I used to run everywhere I went. My sister was a long distance runner, 5 to 10 miles at a time.

My dad walked quite a bit, there was a lumberyard in the next town and he would go pick through the scrap pile on early Sunday mornings, he was up at 5. But, you had to literally go over the river and through the woods, it was 3 miles each way, no roads. We used to call him "wheels" since he could walk great distances. Ironically he spent his last year in a wheel chair at age 95.

One block over from me is .9 of a mile long, Id have to try it, but may need someone to pick me up at the other end. Maybe I could walk my bike and ride back.

Pre-heart attack, I would be winded going up a flight of stairs. I had PT at home when I got home, we did BIG walks, to my dead-end and back, maybe all of 300 feet. Then I was beat and needed to rest. By the following summer I was walking 5 miles on the beach on Sundays. Recently me and my girlfriend walked to the Fire Island Lighthouse, about a 3 mile round trip. I was a little tired but not at all winded.

I think it's important as a prepper to be as physically fit as possible. I also think it's important to be competitive as it brings out the best in us. So with that in mind I want to post your best 1 mile time what age and what weight you were when you ran it.

29 years old 225lbs 6:30 seconds

Would love to run a sub 6 one day not sure if it's possible but I'm better for trying !
I was a sprinter in high school. It's been too long ago to remember what I ran the 100-yard-dash (that's what it was called back then) in. I wasn't a great "miler." In any event ... at 62 ... I can guarantee you that I won't be running the mile at any speed. I still try to run, though, just to remind my muscles that running is still a "thing."

I did the Keto diet a few years ago and went from around 233lbs down to 170lb. After an illness ... I ended up getting hooked on carbs again and got back up to 218. So I started Keto again and (as of this morning) am back down to 205. I'm also back to doing some weigh lifting so get my muscles toned.

4:40 at age 20. More than a decade later it’s about 3 minutes slower although I only get out there two or three times a month (not at all during winter) and really have no interest in training. I just want to be able to run to my neighbors house without passing out come a SHTF emergency.

LOL!! Yeah, right. Not happenin'. Can I go a mile? Yes. Can I "run" a mile? Nope. Had a leg injury a few years ago that took out any possibility of actual running going forward.

It's good to be fit. You're only gonna get just so much outta this ol' shell of a body, though.

It's been over 40 years since I ran track in high school and I can no longer remember. But I remember Johnny running a 4:06 in high school.

When I was 21 years old, I ran a mile in 5 minutes and 18 seconds. It was a few days before I graduated from the academy. I was second in my class. First place went to a guy that was 40!

Today, I’m retired. I have bad feet and occasional knee issues. Running is not on my agenda.

I think we may have gone to high school together.

age 20ish, weight ~180 used to do my 2 mi. runs in the 12:30 range
typical 4 mile times were ~28 mins
ran 10 miles in 75 mins, had to slow down and breathe from the 8-9 mile marks
hit a gas main while drilling once and did the 100 yard dash in about .8 seconds (fear of god as it were)

Talking about bench press...one of my brother's friends was Anthony Clark:

At the Arnold Schwarzenegger Classic in 1997, he performed a controversial, reverse-gripped 800-pound bench press, [5] which was later turned down.

however fast my truck will go.

65, used to be 5'4, but i'm shorter now, usually around 155-160. i used to be 175 with no fat, but nerve damage from multiple herniated discs and spinal bone spurs, along with arthritis in most of my joints took care of all that. lost a lot of muscle, lot of strength, but i still walk and work out.
i can walk a mile in 16-20 minutes. used to be 15 minutes, but i don't think i walk as fast now. don't wear a watch anymore, so i'm not sure.
i used to be one of those that didn't want to take any kind of drug or even otc stuff, but those days are long gone also. they now keep me on my feet and moving. so far. so i'm grateful to have them.

getting old sucks, but i'm still better off than lots of people.
and there's only one way to not get old, so i guess old is good.
and it'll be better if i can ever retire.

That's smoking fast what was your weight?
I think 170#. I raced triathlons in the summer and XC ski races in the winter. I fluctuated between 165/170 in the summer and 180 in the winter. I was never a runner, or good at running. My normal avg pace for triathlons was around 6:30-7:00, but it was a 10k, followed by 26mi of biking, and started with close to a mile swim…. So I wasn’t sprinting.

I've only even ran a mile twice; both times when I was younger that 20 years old. That was over 40 years ago and I'm not sure I could run a mile unless a T-Rex was chasing me.

In 1974 I ran 5:55. Two years later, in boot camp, I ran it again for the final PT test in the Navy but we were carrying a member of our company who had fallen and unable to continue so four of us picked him up and finished the course. I'll never know what the time was but we finished within the required time for all five of us to pass the PT test. I'd say we won...

These days, I can run, but it ain't pretty.
