I have hit on a way to vacuum pack my rice stores.
I fill 1 quart mason jars with uncooked rice
Then bake them in the oven set to 220 degrees F
after about 10 minutes I remove the jars and seal the lids.
When they cool the lids suck down the same as they do when regular canning.
Is this a bad thing?
I have several types of rice -- regualr white, enriched, paraboiled, etc.
I honeslty don't know the difference. The parboiled is a little darker?
