Review of the Sofirn SF14 flashlight.
The only real issue I found with the flashlight was it flickered with AA batteries. The flicker was not that bad, but the company is addressing the issue with an upgraded model of the flashlight. When using the 14500 battery, the light did not flicker.
There is a cabin at the back of the farm which has various fruit trees growing around it. The nice thing, two of the three types are native wild trees.
Wild persimmon tree
There are several other persimmon trees nearby, but only one was talked about in the videos. Most of the...
Short review of the Litesam ED08 flashlight.
The Litesam ED08 can use either a single 14500 or a single AA battery.
700 lumens with 14500 battery.
Lumens - 700, 100, 30
I feel the strobe and SOS feature are not really needed in a light...
A few weeks ago a friend of mine - yes, I have friends in real life - called and asked if I would cook for a fishing tournament. I said yes.
The fishing tournament was going to be at Lake Sam Rayburn here in Southeast Texas. The pit was pulled to location Friday.
Friday evening I cooked some...
The Olight i1R EOS keychain flashlight is an ideal everyday carry flashlight - at least to me anyway.
What I liked about the Olight i1R EOS flashlight:
Simple on / off with two brightness settings
Weighs less than 1/2 ounce
What I did not like about the Olight i1R EOS...
Another Ebola outbreak in Africa this time in the Democratic Republic of the Congo DRC. A quarantine zone was set up, and three people left the zone.
Examples go all the way back to the middle ages of people fleeing cities. During outbreaks of the plague people would flee the cities. This...
22 year old Minn Kota trolling motor finally bit the dust.
Magnets in the housing broke
Seal around the shaft went out
Bearing around the shaft went out.
To replace all the parts would cost around $100. Or I could buy a new trolling motor for $150. I went with option B and bought a new one.
Putting this in the hiking / camping section because the snake was not in the chicken yard.
This is a Texas Rat Snake, also known as the Chicken Snake. It is pretty much harmless. However, I have heard of bites getting infected. The snakes are also supposed to carry E. Coli. Which means you...
The guy from Reluctant Preppers has been asking me to do an interview for close to a year, maybe even longer. I finally agreed and we had a wonderful talk on the phone.
Some of the audio may sound a little off as I was walking around the farm while we were talking.
I would like to thank...
Almost stepped on a Hognose snake the other day while walking over to a shed here on the farm. The Hognose, aka Spreading Adder, is supposed to be harmless to humans. But, bites may swell.
As far as I know, nobody has ever died from a Hognose snake bite.
I usually see these around April -...
My main focus will be on food. Of course I will be doing other topics, such as hiking, water filters, flashlights, and mre and freeze dried taste testing.
I want to do some buckets with chicken manure to grow preppers and tomatoes.
In February use the tractor to disk up an area and plant...
I'm new to this and there is a lot of material to learn (or use for reference) and carrying paper books is hard. I may buy hard copies and print out some things but I was wondering if anyone had a plan for keeping reference materials and books/videos on a device. There is so much...
Here is some kid with a 40MM Bofors! Not sure about the Russia theme but I found the video entertaining. The second one is the sales video on the same piece from www.ordnance.com.
Maybe when I finish all my other preps I should restore one of these for myself. :D:
