  1. Disaster Preparedness General Discussion
I think a good axe is an important part of ones kit, especially when your AO is forested. However, I haven't yet found an axe that suits my needs. I tried to get by on a crappy walmart Pack Axe, but if I ever needed to do any real work, I know that it wont cut it (literally). I'm probably...

Hey guys, you know how I love to do these mods on Cold Steel hawks. Here is 27 hour (roughly) modification I done on a Cold Steel Rifleman's Hawk that was influenced by Old West Culture. I got some ideas from a bunch of pictures and designs from research. I completely stripped it, sanded, filed...

Here is a Cold Steel Rifleman's Hawk I modded. Just figured I would share it. I did some filework on the head as well as a lemon and mustard patina. I wood burned the designs portraying Apache Indian designs from my personal research. All finished up with some gunstock stain and polyurethane.

Before you say anything, I KNOW united cutlery's m48 tools aren't the greatest out there but they are affortable and they get the job done. As for the actual post, I was wondering what would be more efficient in a survival situation. A spear or a tomahawk, I chose m48 because that way the...

I made these tomahawks last year while camping, since then I have been making a lot nicer pieces and will post them soon. The heads are just perfect rocks I found along the beach in northern Wisconsin, they are in the handle like a rock and don't budge! I wrapped them in sinew and leather and...

So I've been wanting to repurpose a estwing hatchet for awhile, but I didn't want to ruin a good tool. So I picked this up and practiced with a bench grinder and a belt sander. I got the idea from RMJ doing a run with estwings, but ending up modeling it after a browning shock n' awe because I...

So I'm making a tomahawk and I have the handle done and all I need to do is the blade. I found an old axe blade and I'm thinking that I might be able to use it. What do you think?

  18. Reviews & Questions For Vendors
http://budk.com/Knives/Tomahawk-Jungle-Survivor-Knife I picked one of these up about a month and a half ago now and it's impressed me so I figured I'd pass it along. I've bought five so far and just made another order for two more. Out of the box, it's not very impressive, but looks can be a...
  19. Knives, Swords & Axes
Anybody carry a Tomahawk? Thought I might look into getting one, I just wanted to see some insight on them and have a few questions. Are they better than an Axe or Hatchet at chopping? Do they break after some hard use? (The wood handle on some has me a little skeptical.) Are they really...
