shovel project

I bought 2 cheap shovels (spades) from Big Lots and they both broke on me first time I used them. What are some things I can use the old metal shovel heads for? Possibly a knife. p.s. Are there blades for an electric jigsaw to cut metal? I do not have anything fancy to cut the metal shovel...
