Are there any special tricks to storing seeds long term? I have a "survival box" that I put together and want to keep seeds in it in case the worst happens. I'm looking for help to ensure their survival. Right now I have seeds in zip-lock bags but I don't know if that's the best way to store them.

Can I just by seeds from Home Depot/Lowes and store them for a few years as long as they are kept dry and cool? Or do they need to be rotated out every couple of years or so? Do I need to get some sort of hybrid seeds that are designed to store longer? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.
I have started a seed bank about a year ago after seeing kev online. but i dont have access to a freezer cause i live in an app and my freezer is tiny. But how long to seeds tend to last, ive heard toms and peppers live forever but what about my squash, peas, cuccs, and other larger fleshier...

2. What would be an ideal condition to do this?
