My wife and I have a bag of deer corn for the feeder. While I was filling up the rabbit feeders, I thought why not add some corn to their feed. Wild rabbits eat the corn out of the feeders, so why not add some corn to my rabbits food bowl? I'll keep yall updated on how things go.

After building the rabbit hutch, my wife and I built a couple of hide-away boxes for the rabbits to get into. The box also acts as a birthing box, a place to get out of the cold winter wind, and a place to get off the wire of the cage. The problem is, the rabbits have been urinating in the...

I have previously been using cattle to suppliment my dogs food. (Mastiff breeder here with lots of dogs) I am putting in a privacy fence and want my meat supply to be inside the enclosed 2 1/2 acres so I obviously do not have room for more than the milk cow and a calf in the lower pasture...

It has been a year and a half since my wife and I started our small backyard rabbit stud. It has had plenty of success and a few failures. We started with dutch rabbits, 2 does and a buck. Then added Lops, and then New Zealand Whites. We have had great luck with the dutch's, they are great...

I was looking up how much meat a female rabbit can produce in one year, and came across this list of facts. http://www.ardengrabbit.com/facts.html One of the facts says that one 10 pound female rabbit can produce 320 pounds of meat per year. Is this correct? That sounds like a lot to me, but...

This is my first experience breeding rabbits and I laughed until my sides hurt even after I about had my eye poked out. I took 1 doe from her cage and put her in with the buck and watched the buck mount and attempt to breed her from every possible angle as this was his first time. Poor ole girl...

Although I live in the city, I have a source for fresh goat meat, which my husband and I both love. There are not alot of recipes out there. Our favorite ways to cook it are in the pressure cooker with pearl onions, rosemary and new potatos or in a curry. Of course the ground meat is an easy...

I need to build one or two big outside cages. They will be rectangular and quite big. So could just build a frame and put nets on all sides. Thing is the longer sides need longer pieces of wood and... limited transport, car only, so can't make them too long. Trying to find a smart way putting...

I just bought several rabbit cages plus some equipment. Rabbits when I get set up. Eventually I would like to be totally self sufficient in rabbit feed but until I get to that point, does anyone store rabbit pellets on a longer term basis? Does it get moldy or deteriorate substantially in...

Hey guys it's me again with more "eco-terror" questions. I say eco-terror because some people don't think too highly of our project. The concept in this thread as you may have guessed is rabbits. The indegenous rabbits in our area are scrawny and not quite up to the standards of what I was...
