I was hoping someone could help me out. I'm not too familiar with how propane reacts to the cold, but I know that cold weather has affects on the pressure inside of the tanks. If I were to store propane tanks in the shed, would the constant pressure changes cause propane loss/leakage over...

Lately I have had the past on my mind, namely propane lighting. In researching that period in history between non-electrical society and widespread electrical adoption when kerosine lanterns, candles and gas lights where more of a mainstay I have began to wonder how economical a modern house...

Proof that Propane last a long time !!!!!!! (Pics) While looking thru my moms out building, I found the old propane jugs that my mom had bought for my dad back in 1988 (Before his death) along with the propane grill that he never used. I noticed that the jugs were even still full when I lifted...

Just curious. How many of the little green propane bottles do you keep around? I'm a believer that you can never have enough, we try to keep 10 minimum but I think you could have 4 times that many and not have enough...especially considering that sometimes Wally World has them for $2.50 or less.

I used the Search' feature but couldn't find a thread about this, although I'm sure there may be one around somewhere... Yesterday I was at Wallyworld and noticed those one-litre (quart?) sized containers of propane. We usually have the big one for use with the barbeque, but I'm wondering if...

How does everyone store their propane? I know the dangers of stroring it inside with possible leakage through the release valve. But stroring it outside with temperature changes could ruin the tank. So where do you store the large 20 lb tanks and the small 1 lb tanks?

I have a 500# propane tank that I keep filled. If SHTF what options do I have to access this fuel safely? Can it be transferred to 100# or 20# tanks? What appliances can be used directly on the 500#tank if any? Grills? Propane heaters? Which ones require regulators? It would be a shame for...

Could a propane tank explode if punctured or shot? I know if the gas leak is exposed to a open flame, but is there anyother way to cause on explosion? I have been thinking of storing a few tanks in my basement.

Refilling 1 lb Propane Tanks http://www.northerntool.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_6970_11829_11829 After reading the thread re: propane vs. kerosene heaters I was doing some searching and came accross this coupler that allows you to refill your 1lb propane tanks from a larger e.g., 20...

For those of you who use or are stocking up on propane or just need an extra tank or two, I ran across a great deal yesterday: Some of The Great Indoors stores are closing / going out of business. One of the stores in my area has brand new unfilled 20# propane tanks (the BBQ grill size) marked...

Has anyone ever used, one of those brass fittings, for refilling those small disposable propane tanks. I understand, that you attach it to a 10lb propane tank, and then screw it onto the smaller tanks, and it refills it. I was thinking about buying one, but they cost about $20.00, so I wanted...
