I have a NIB 1986 Norinco Ak47. The left side of the reciever is stamped 3-1986 Norinco AKS 47. I am assuming the "S" is for semi auto only...which the weapon is. I hear people talk about the Norinco type 56 being a pre -ban. Talking with some gun show people this weapon is "pre-ban" as well...
