I was at Walmart and noticed they had a dizzying array of different brands and lamp types. LEDs, Cree, etc.. Most expensive doesn't necessarily always mean the best.
I intend on using the HL for power-outages, fishing, camping, hiking, shtf. What brand and type is a good, all-around...
Found it at my local sporting goods store. Not sure if it's a good one or not but it looks like a smoking deal. They also have them in blue.
What say you?
lately i've been using a princetontec headlamp. i''m pretty happy with it.
for what it's worth, they are a us company, so if you are staunch about buying american, they are american.
I've become a believer in headlamps, much to the disdain of my camping friends.
I'm assuming there are no handcrank headlamps out there, so, what lightweight bombproof headlamps do you recommend?
Lightweight is a bonus, but bombproof is a necessity.
Woot has a great deal today (2/15/10 Monday). A large, heavy duty headlamp for 17.99.
The little ones are great for a backpack, but in your home or camp, a big, bright one that uses 2aa batteries is much better.
Woot only sells items for one day. Sale over.
