Guys and gals, someone recommend a new knife for my collection. I am thinking of something around the size of the Gerber Strongarm (I already have one), or around the size of an SOG Sealpup.
I do not have an SOG Sealpup, so I am leaning towards one.
MOLLE adaptable is a requirement.
Found this on Foxnews Tech Toys: The Hottest Gadgets of the Week.
What do you think?
Well I was at the outdoor store the other day, and saw this; I have liked the design since I first saw it, and the other day I bought it!
Have not overly used it, so as far as long term I cant speak to how it will hold up.
The things I do like about it are that it is an excellent chopper...
What is a good cheap knife to leave at a bailout location? There is not much of anything there now. I would like a really good knife, but one not so expensive that I wouldnt cry about if it got stolen.
So I took the plunge and ordered up a camel brown LMF II ASEK from Rocky National.

Now all I have to do is wait for...
The Gerber Prodigy is kind of like a smaller version of the LMF II being 3/4" shorter in overall length. Other differences are the Prodigy is a full tang knife and the sheath does not include an integrated sharpener.
Today I bought a 20 dollar assisted opening Gerber knife with a pocket clip thing to keep on my person for protection and cutting stuff and doing things that require a knife.
It's pretty sharp but I'm not sure what kind of metal it's made from or if it holds an edge well. What kind of metal...
Gerbers new LHR has an incredible design IMO. Why did they choose
420 as the blade steel ? This boggles my mind as 420 is known to hold
the worst edge of any knife steel. These are web sites out there claiming
it is 440A and even S30V !!! I contacted Gerber and they verified that
It has come to my attention that a lot of people like to spend some considerable amount of money on knives. Well, I have fallen into this fad on more than one occasion - this fad being broken for me when I managed to break the tip off a rather nice but expensive Kershaw a little while ago.
