Maybe America is getting ready for this covid19 after all. A week ago I ordered a couple big boxes from Mountainhouse just to top off the freeze dried food. Just got an email that they canceled the order due to demand and not being able to keep up with their inventory, they gave me 10% off the...

Has anyone else bought freeze dried foods from Craigslist? I took a chance the other day and bought 15 cans of MH (2 dinners and a breakfast) for $120. For the life of me I couldn't figure out why they sold so cheap. Cans are in perfect shape and they are good until 2033. I couldn't make the...

Overall, I found the Mountain House turkey tetrazzini, equal to beef stew and beef stroganoff. Sodium content - if you eat half the pouch that is 780 mg. If you eat the whole pouch that is 1,560 mg of sodium. For someone with high blood pressure or heart disease, that is a full days...

Mountain House Beef Stew is probably one of the better rounded meals from Mountain House. The beef, peas and carrots were all consistent with each other. The gravy had plenty of flavor. There was nothing bland or overbearing about the beef stew. Overall, this is going to be added to my preps.

Review of the Mountain House Breakfast Skillet. Probably the worst mountain house meal I have tried so far. Very bland with an overpowering potato taste.

Taste testing the Mountain House Lasagna 30 year pouch. These used to have a seven year shelf life, so I did not buy very many of them. However, mountain house recently extended the life of their seven year pouches to 30 years. Now that the pouches have a 30 year shelf life I am adding them...

The Mountain House Beef Stroganoff With Noodles was pretty good. The instructions called for 3/4 cup of boiling water, which is six ouneces. I added just a tad under 8 ounces. Let's say 7 1/2 ounces. Even with that, next time I will add a little over 8 ounces. Some of the pieces of beef...

Mountain House sweet and sour pork was ok. I have tasted better from Mountain House. The sweet and sour flavor seemed a little weak. The pieces of pork were about the size of a pencil eraser. This should of been called sweet and sour rice with pork, because there was more rice than pork...

I posted a video on youtube about stockpiling freeze dried food. Several people commented that mountain house pouches are now rated at 30 years instead of 7 years. Does anyone have the details as to when and why mountain house extended the life of their pouches? Did mountain house change...

Sorry if this is a lame question but I am looking to diversity some of my food supply and have been browsing the Mointain House website and have some odd questions. 1) The MH site shows the servings per #10 can but how big or what are the approx dimensions of the cans themselves? 2) If you...

A few days ago I started reading a new book, it's called "War on the eastern front by James Lucas."
