    The house my dad grew up in, the fireplace lintel made from a piece of steel flatbar has rusted out. From the looks of it the lintel was maybe 3 inches wide, 36 inches long and 1/2 inch thick. What would be a good choice to replace the lintel with? Angle iron, flat bar, tubing, or something else?
