I am looking for a small hand crank radio that does not contain a lithium battery. This radio should contaiin one or more NiMh AA batteries instead.
This emergency radio preferably can charge regular NiMh AA batteries, that I can use in a headlamp.
I want to charge this radio...
Should I carry a solar/crank radio in my bug-out bag or a large solar power bank? My bug-out bag has to be leightweight to walk with.
In my bug-out bag I could carry a crank/solar emergency radio with built in power bank. Or I could carry a high capacity solar power bank of the same weight, in...
I am looking for an emergency radio for my bug-out bag. That radio should have one or more generic rechargeable lithium batteries.
Then I can replace those batteries at low cost if they are no longer rechargeable, after a few years.
Then I can also carry extra lithium batteries in my bug-out...
I want to carry a radio receiver in my lightweight bug-out bag to get important information during emergencies. For that purpose I could carry a handcrank radio in my bug-out bag, like government organisations advise.
Or I could carry a lightweight (foldable) solar power panel, combined with a...
In my last thread, Nomad, 2nd said I need to make it a little longer, so here I go.
For April 2017 I decided to focus on rechargeable USB devices. Rather than going with a large 12 volt panel, to a charge controller, and then to a battery, I decided to go dabble in a solar panel that has USB...
If anyone is looking for a nice little radio to put back with there emergency
supplies here's one to consider. I just got it and it does everything they say
it will. I played with the short wave side band or whatever it is and I got
a lot of people speaking in metric or something I can't...
Hi Folks...thanks in advance for your help.
1.) Can anyone recommend a decent solar/hand crank radio? I found this one for $34 and it looks like a winner but I'd love some advice from someone who currently uses one and can recommend one? I found this thread but would like your input further...
Found a used Grundig FR200 in great shape on Craigslist for $15. I don't know a lot about these but googled some reviews and seems like knowledgable people speak highly of it. For now, its my only emergency radio, so its better than nothing and I got it dirt cheap :D:
I was looking at radio/charger and now it's not available. Does anyone know of a comparable radio that is freely available at a similar price. The one cool thing about it is it has cell phone charges included.
I saw a link for this product, and I'm interested in getting a solar powered radio or two for the BOB, and apartment. If anyone has used this item, let me know your thoughts, or if you could recommend a better model. Here are the links...
So I will start with the apology.
I am on many forums and I am about to break all the rules.
I have only been searching for about an hour and I am giving up.
I just want someone to tell me what the BEST is.
Yes, this is my first post.
I am looking for the best portable emergency...
I bought 2 radios today.
one is a emergency radio from ETON. It is oneof the simple American Red Cross radios with weather/AM/FM. It also has weather alert function. It is solar powered, has a hand crank and can charge my cell phone and FRS radio using USB and the hand crank.
I turned on...
While on a camping trip with a buddy this weekend, I had a small lapse of gear envy. We were at our camping spot, relaxing, doing some fishing, when my buddy pulls out his am/fm/weather radio. The radio is a Kaito Electronics Voyager. So my buddy starts telling me about the radio - its solar...
I'm looking to see what your suggestions are for an emergency radio? I see Eton has a couple, even some with built in GMRS, but they have bad ratings on Amazon.
I like the idea of GMRS on a solar powered / crank powered unit, saves the need for additional batteries if possible...
I am looking for a very small but good wind up radio. Found this one
Want something that gets stations and is possibly water proof or resistant... There...
I believe I've narrowed my choices down to two radios for emergencies.
Both have dynamo charging capabilies, built in flashlights and cell-phone chargers, and NOAA frequencies.
I like this one for the fact that it has a GMRS radio built in.
I like this one because it has a solar charger and...
1. Solar Panel
2. USB Cell phone charger
3. NOAA Weather band
4. LED flashlight
6. Splash resistance
7. Digital AM/FM radio tuner
8. Crank Powered
