    I ran across 40lb bags of Deer Corn at W-mart. Has anyone ground these down to cornmeal? I am assuming it is safe for human consumption. I am considering stocking away some for long term storage

    Put up a few things in mylar zip bags today. First time I've used the zip locks. Be sure to get the "dust" from things like oatmeal from where you make your seal. Same with standard mylar.

    I know the LDS warehouse puts flour in #10 cans with OA's. Would corn meal store for 30 years + in mylar bags with OA's in buckets? My wife make's the best homemade tortilla's, Just corn meal and water. anyone storing cornmeal?

    I went by the discount grocery tonight. They have 5-lb bags of grits for 1.49. 25 or 50 lbs, mylar-bagged and stored in buckets, would make a nice addition to my preps. They would also give us some breakfast-food variety. The thing is, the best-by date is now. Has anyone ever stored grits...

    Lets say your going to stock up on either flour or corn meal, which one would you pick? Pick one or the other, but not both. Whichever one you pick will be sealed in mylar bags, and then stored in 5 gallon buckets. Please explain your decision.
