I got my very first BK2 in the mail the other day. It's the nicest knife I've ever invested in and I've wanted it for a couple of years now.
I've thought of a dozen different things I want to do to this knife, from stripping it and putting on a patina to replacing the scales with...
Like the title says, pics of the Becker Field Bag. I loaded it up, took it outside, and took some pics. List of what all was in it at the end.
Inside I dumped a bunch of things I figured would go good for a person of the caliber to own such a fine...
ok so i finally got a bk7 yesterday i havent had much time to put it through its paces but i like it a lot, also i recently picked up a couple mora's as well as a usmc kabar they are all super good and just wanted to thank all of you for your advice thus far in my survival journey!
My name is Sam. I look forward to meeting you all over the coming weeks, months and years.
I've had an interest in knives and survival for as long as I can remember. So I started collecting knives and have been for about a year or more now. UP TO 39 NOW! Can't put my finger on what...
Just ordered a Necker or BK-11 off Ebay, new in box. Wondering what to expect, do they come with a good edge? I know I will probably wrap the handle with some 550. How is the sheeth design? Does it hold the knife in there pretty well? Thanks:thumb:
My name is John, I'm a chef/bushman, i love the outdoors, and i am a very capable person. I'm make custom Knife scales for some knives Becker bk2 and the Esee Izula that i sale there the only ones I'm able to make because that's all i have for expansible. :)
Here are my knives with some...
Im looking into picking up a Kabar Becker BK2 for the wife and possibly 1 for myself. I bought her 2 Frost Mora Clippers and she also has a "Tactical Pink" Rat/ESEE Izula being shipped as I type.
She thinks my Kabar utility and Kabar Lg heavy bowie are too big (see any pattern?)...
Just a heads up, many of you Becker fans probably already know this but the new version of the Ka-Bar BK2 knife is now shipping.
Changes are a skeletonized handle and a flat "hammer" pommel.
These make a world of difference in terms of grip on the Becker BK2, BK3, BK7 and BK9. Pretty sharp looking too.

Here are a few images of the handles with a BK7.
I recently bought the knife and made some modifications
1) rap 550 cord to the sheath
2) place flint steel striker to the back of the sheath
3) grind the back end of the handle to expose the metal of the knife to use it as strike surface.
Thought I'd show off my recent work! With the lack of availability of ammo, I'm spending more time in my shop than on the range!
I'd appreciate your feedback :

A Ka bar made bk-9. The old Camilius ones are actually cheaper, but I wanted the 1095 Cro Van.
I can't wait to see how it stacks up against my current tank, Ontario sp-10. I know it'll beat the Ontario sheath wise, but I'm more inetrested in edge retention, sharpening, durability, and...
My young daughter and I went for an overnight backpacking trip only 4 miles from the car on a sunny 85 degree day and 56 degree forecast night in Yosemite national park.
Around 8:00 it began raining, just a little at first, then a downpour through the night. When we woke up the next morning...
I've had a Camillus made CU-7 for awhile now, and I've always liked the knife (not bad for the $40 I paid, heh). I'm wondering if there's enough difference in the Ka-Bar 1095 version to justify getting a new one? This one I have now is decent, but doesn't seem to live up to the reputation for...
