barrel twist

5.56 16" 1/7 Twist v.s. 1/9 Twist questions...... My question is can you run 55gr to 77gr in both of these reliably, I'm no reloading guy or ammo expert. I'm always hearing don't run this ammo grain in a 1/9 twist blah blah blah....:confused:

I am not starting this to discuss rifle options other than the barrel. Let's say I'm looking at 2 rifles the price is the same and one has 1/9" twist the other is 1/7" twist. It's my understanding that 1/9 can handle everything from 40-70gr bullets while the quicker 1/7 can handle heavier...

Hey folks, Simple question, can you shoot a 55 grain 223 bullet in a gun that has a 1:7 twist barrel? The 1:7 barrels are designed for shooting heavier rounds like the 75 or 77 grains. Do you run into (accuracy) problems when you shoot a relatively light round like the 55 grain from such a...
