Troogle, finding the truth about google. Seems like Microsoft, mozilla, google and some other big companies are working together to create internet 2.0. From a Dutchwebsite I heard that important folks from all those companies are talking together right now in an hotel in Amsterdam.

Interesting.

Here is the Whois information for: http://www.thenewwebproject.com/

owner-lname: Nijenroode

By Googling (Oh, the irony!): "John Nijenroode" ... you get these links:

http://twitter.com/whuup
http://troogle.wordpress.com

So, here is what we know:
  1. John Nijenroode owns thenewwebproject.com
  2. John Nijenroode is whuup on twitter
  3. John Nijenroode is whuup on troogle.wordpress.com

Now if you visit this link:
http://troogle.wordpress.com/2009/06...e-its-release/

Whuup is quoted saying this:

Quote:
What we then discovered is a temporarily website about this project, it is called The New Web Project. What we can see now is just an announcement of ‘The New Web Project‘ that will be launced ’soon’. When that actually happens.. we don’t know.
Hmmmm. Mr. Nijenroode claims he doesn't know what this "temporarily website" is ... a website he owns. From what I can tell, it is a sloppy viral advertising campaign. IWBSIWWIITF.

The internet in its current form has to be a thorn in the side of the global elites... they must reign it in, lest the masses become aware and fight back.

Load of crap.

There is a REAL Internet 2, which is the manifestation of new tech (dark/multimode fiber etc) using IPv6 rather than what we use now (IPv4). It's already in use.

Yea Internet2 is what a lot of universities run on to do research etc. And boy, is it FAST.

When I was a freshman in college, there was a filesharing application called i2hub that ran on Internet2 protocols. On a day with little traffic, you could download a 700MB movie in about 3 minutes. On a more congested day, it took about 10 minutes. I am not exaggerating. It may as well have been a LAN connection.

Thats how the Internet works now and has always been. It's all corporate to government to university. There is nothing nice about it. In fact it's a sinister creation.

If I traceroute to this forum I go through these companies:

O2/Telefonique (British/French telecoms corporation)
Level3 in London (network corporation)
Level3 in New york (network corporation)
Level3 in Dallas (network corporation)
Tigee LLC (Private colo)

Net Neutrality is crap.

It can't exist without vast quantities of cash, which as you can imagine is a problem as no-one wants to pay for it. That is apart from corporates who build a business out of it therefore negating the neutrality bit.

What we need is a low bandwith, amateur packet radio network (for simplicity) and software which is TINY so that it has miniscule transmission costs. Oh and forget media streaming and all that rubbish. Messages and software over the air - that is what the Internet should be.
