OK the rule is you can have a topic in two forums. If someone wants to open in "natural and man made disasters",go ahead. I wont. I'm leaving this here because of the Gill P-7X post starting here. It needs to go in the real world topics as well so updates get recorded.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is what I put together. It could be completely wrong. Math, and Black Russians, could be my enemy.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"The brown dwarf is officially named Gna. WISE did not detect it at 12-25 AU So we know it is big and at 4000 AU. The arc seconds show it is moving at 930 kilometer per second or 2 million miles per hour."
"Depending on how large it is, is could snatch planets from our Sun and take them away....or much worse drag in a **** storm from the Oort cloud, the Kuiper belt and/or the asteroid belt along with it, depending on trajectory. We shall see on the next few readings." (Mine)

"Until the nature of the source becomes clear, we have named it Gna. Unless there are yet unknown, but significant, issues with ALMA observations, we have detected a previously unknown objects in our solar system. Based on proper motion analysis we find that, if it is gravitationally bound, Gna is currently located at 12−25 AU distance and has a size of ∼220−880 km. Alternatively it is a much larger, planet-sized, object, gravitationally unbound, and located within ∼4000 AU" (theirs)

I really want to participate in this but I think(know the little bastard)my dog is right. Seizure is coming soon. I can't be civil or socially acceptable in the few days before. I will comeback and bump if I remember, otherwise bump for me. This could be the big one. We need hundreds more people looking at it than just me.

A radio telescope array in Chile has detected a source of microwave radiation. The astronomers think it's pretty close, possible in the outskirts of the solar system. Based on its "brightness" they say it might be a planet somewhat larger than the Earth 300 times as far away as we are from the sun or a larger body, called a brown dwarf, 20,000 times as far from the sun as we are. Other astronomers think it's even farther.

I don't know where the OP got the idea that this object will come barreling through the center of the solar system trailing a hail of comets from the Oort Cloud and dragging inner planets out into space.

Default Is This The Real Deal Or What? ...

Is this a real serious post or is it something phoney. At this point I simply do not know. But ... I will hit the six or so telescope and astrometry (sp) forums I frequent. This is news to me, but I also freely admit the last day has been kinda lazy for me. Yikes!!!

I watched the first video. The guy doesn't understand celestial motion. You can't use the proper motion of Bernard's Star six light-years away to calculate the abosolute motion of an object only a few AU away.

Take a look at the section its posted in. This is the kind of thing that has been disproved numerous times, and we've had numerous dates for (none have come to pass by the way) and always has very little actual evidence and lots of speculation. Impossible to prove even if it is true at the moment.

Well, if were not running out of food, or the sun is going to barbque us with a solar flare, or the poles are going to melt, or mulslim homos are gonna eat us all alive, it's always something. Just get on with it and stop all the pontificating.

Mork from Ort.

In honor of that great cocaine fueled star traveller, Robin Williams.

4000 AU is 4000x the distance from Earth to the Sun. Pluto is roughly at 40 AU... this thing is a good ways out. It is roughly 372,000,000,000 miles away or 4.3 years away. Plenty of time to build and fuel up The Messiah... LOL.

So they have it narrowed down to a rock 1 mile in diameter to something larger than Earth, Somewhere between the outer part of our solar system, out to 4000 times further from the Sun than we are, which may or may not be moving like a bat of hell, in some direction? (and may or may not contain a live chicken).

Dang, sounds pretty definitive.
