Aside from enjoying the type of stuff most of us on these boards enjoy, I try to stay up to date with political activity related to our civil rights and pester the crap out of my state's senators and representatives.

Most of you probably know who the infamous, progressive Diane Feinstein is, due to her relentless anti-2A political drive. She's also on the Senate Intel Committee and has unsurprisingly and firmly stood her ground on the side of Big Brother-ish government in defending the NSA because TERRORISTS.

I therefor, found this morning's news to be deliciously ironic. Different alphabet soup agency, similar behavior, different target, different reaction. If you have nothing to hide, it shouldn't matter that they searched your computers, right?

*Edit* Sorry for ruining your breakfast with the article's picture of Mrs. Feinstein prominently displayed.

Spying is a dirty business. Always was and always will be. I expect them to play dirty now and then so we can survive as a country. I suspect Waterboarding and other forms of torture have saved a lot of American lives. The public in general are a bunch of idiots and do not need to know everything. I wish I had a simple answer but I don't. Its kind of like hiring a contractor. You try to hire an honest hard working person who has references but in the end you have to trust someone.

Finklestein is afraid of being found out.
She's in collusion with Obummer and now that the doodoo is starting to hit the fan she's trying to distance herself from him so she doesn't sink with the ship.

But guess what? It's too late!

Wasn't it the CIA that was conducting illegal mind control drug experiments on US citizens in mental hospitals, without the permission of the patients and/or congress under project MK ULTRA back in the 1970s?

I vaguely recall that Congress got wind of it and shut their workshop down...not because they were abusing mental patients, but because they did it without getting approval from Congress first.

Well cry me a river Feinstein. You sat back and turned the gov't spies lose on American citizens and now you are being spied on too? Gee, having to put up with the results of the laws you passed must be tough. They should publicize what they find. Maybe it will make this useless bunch of legislators more cautious in what they pass.

I found her statement, that the "Comstitution may have been violated" hysterical. Now she is worried about violating the Constitution?

I was really offended by the NSA jerk's attitude, "Yeah we broke the law (and violated the Constitution) but I'm only answerable to Obama and he answers to no one."

"A warrant? we don't need no stinking warrants!"

We don't need no stinking NSA!

Wow, that whole "government only exists to edify the natural rights of the individual" concept went so far over your head that you should go to Jamaica and become a limbo dancer while you're still in practice.

The military is meant to be subordinate to the civil authority, the civil authority subordinate to the rule of law, and the rule of law subordinate to the natural rights of the individual.
