Happens anytime there is a hint of them banning or restricting guns or ammo... probably see a huge sales boost on hicap mags and tactical gear too... plus you have the end of the world 2012 thing in 2 days.

The gun dealers were no dummies - they probably voted for O to keep their sales up and yet you play right into their hands....now quick run out and by guns/ammo you don't NEED at a price you would never have paid 2 weeks ago. While you are at it make a big donation to the NRA, after all, they have your best interests at heart, just like the gun dealers.

I don't like the NRA,but I support other gun Right groups. They look out for my interest. As far as running out and buying guns and ammo, I've been buying for years and have everything I could ever want. I'm going to Cabela's today to look around. I don't need anything, but will most likely buy something.People that are buying see the writing on the wall.Guns to many are mostly a want not a need, so people wait until the last minute to spent their hard earned money.

probably because of the lift on Concealed Carry ban. Most people don't understand what it actually is so they think they will be allowed to carry now. However, all that happened is it now unties the hands of IL Congress to introduce a concealed carry law. Which they are supposedly in rush to do.

plus i am sure more and more people are finally opening their eyes and seeing the looming police state on the horizon. I've also noticed that the survival books at the store are out of stock as well.

72 hours until doomsday - are you surprised? IF I start to see more beans and rice in shopping carts, rather than frozen dinners and beer - THEN I might believe more people are prepping.

I'll be anxious to see what the NRA has to say Friday. I hope they don't cave in.

Good luck trying to buy online, too.

Tell ya what, tho: I'm mighty impressed with people. I didn't think there were that many people who could overcome the debilitating handicap of hoplophobia to go out and purchase weapons in the face of an impending "ban" of some sort (tbd).

Maybe there's hope for the country, yet.

Well let me see. I was in my LGS. I live on Long Island. I know the owner. He told me that in guns alone they have been selling a months worth of sales in one day since the shooting. In ammo they sold three months worth of sales in four days. He said it is PANIC BUYING.. Never has he seen it like this, and he has been in business for many years.

my buddy at work went to the store to get his m1a over lunch today and he said every ar and ak was gone. they are limiting quantities of ammo each customer can get at a time and mags were all gone. there was a line for background checks he had to wait through. he did walk off with it though. but people ahead of him were buying 2 or 3 guns at a time.

Just got back from the local Fleet Farm. Never seen it like this beore. I'm sure its worse other places, but this is Wisconsin where I figured most people had already been stocking up.

Guns
--------
WASR was over $600
Cant touch an AR left for less than $1500
Zero sks left
Mosins there for increased price of $129
Some Century arms heavy looking CTME or somthing (x39) was over $700
Handguns, about half the cases were empty
About half of the imported rifles case is now empty

Magazines
------------
AK - 2 left @ $15
AR - none that I saw
SKS tapco 20s 1 left @ $20

Ammo
----------
Half the ammo shelfs were bare
3 spam cans left, 1 of each 5.45,7.62x54R,5.56

Customers
---------------
About a dozen in the gun section, lots of business type men (suits and ties)
6 handeling guns and filling out paperwork
6 looking at ammo

Where I live all the stores were empty except for the gun retailers. Everyone in town was at one gun store or another. Then people got ****ed and riots broke out. A couple of people were killed by AR style guns with high capacity magazines. Then the ATF showed up and started tear gassing everywhere. People got out their cell phones and checked for the next closest town with a gun store and got in their trucks, some with people filling the beds, and tore out of there like a bat out of hell. Meanwhile the ATF got out some kind of lists and started canvassing neighborhoods in trucks, like they were going to confiscate all the firearms in town. You'll see it on the news in a minute.

Nah. Everything is normal here.

I pass by my gun store almost daily. I've never seen it as packed as it was the last few days. The news channel even did a story on them. One day I drove by and the lines around the counter were 5 deep.
I'm under the impression that every American owns a gun now. lol
