Well, they apparently lost some suitcase-sized nukes during the dissolution that, at least officially, nobody has located. I suppose anything is possible.

I spent my military career in S2, the classes I attended regarding the Soviet's chemical and biological weapons programs were nothing less than terrifying to say the least. .02

They say the Swedish cases could been spread by insects. I didn't even know that could happen. Need to update my mental database...
