Many are trying to get a small supply of silver and maybe some gold nuggets or coins, even jewelry to keep on hand for trade when the paper money is worthless when there is no banking system left. So the best way to get gold and silver is to get scrap gold and silver and turn it into small bars, rings or jewelry.

The great thing here is you can do this now and make money from your scrap silver and gold (among other metals) while you are getting prepared or use that money to put towards preps. If you are out of a job, here is an easy way to make money from junk. (Cell phones, computers, and other electronics all have gold and silver in them.)

There are several ways to get scrap gold and silver, but I prefer the non-toxic way of getting it. Salt water gold recovery is one great way to do it. Iodine leaching is another safe way. Some will prefer Aqua Regina gold recovery method. If you use more corrosive chemicals I would read everything about using them first.

Here are some links about salt water gold recovery and some videos.

ANYONE can do this anywhere in the world.

First, a video of a girl getting parts out of a computer to get scrap gold and silver from. She is also finding lots of other goodies in there.

There are hundreds of videos on youtube and thousands more around the web showing you different ways to get gold and silver from scrap parts.

Search words you can use are reverse electroplating, Gold recovery from computer parts, gold leaching, salt water gold recovery, and Amalgamation.

If you want to buy a machine that will do it for you, then the Simplicity gold recovery will do it for about $700 bucks. (Its actually cheaper just building your own with a glass jar and buying the salt and neutralizers...A LOT cheaper.) You can buy all the things you need with any method for less than $50 bucks to collect a pound of gold from scrap.

Here is the Simplicity gold recovery product line to get an idea from. I would never buy it. I would just buy their salts and neutralizers.. maybe.

I thought this was extremely cool to know and you can make money now or just collect the gold and silver for trade later. Either way its a win win situation. If I didn't have a job, this is what I would be doing. People would pay to give me their junk just to get rid of it. I would even put an ad in the paper saying I will take your junk.

This can help fill that survivalists treasure chest.

If a calamity happens, and you are laying along the road dead, and you have a cell phone, gold, gold / silver fillings in your teeth, Diamonds, you aren't going to have them for very long.

Maybe a good tool to take along would be a pair of pliers that could be used to pull teeth and a pair of bolt cutters to cut fingers off.

All the kids here has booger studs, studs in their tongues, and earrings.
I guess I could use a couple of extra bucks!

Thanks!

I live my life as a professional scrapper (work for a scrap yard). Some of our customers make good cash money that is often supplemented by government assistance.

I like Scrapper Girl. Glad a woman can finally lead other women to gaining knowledge about scrapping and the processes. What I am saying is I think a woman could better explain different facets of scrapping and the processes.

Where do I find this video about recovery of gold and silver from salt water. I have a ton of crap jammed in my garage that has been held off because of the long honey do list.

The problem with your family owning a scrap yard is you often turn into hoarders!

I think I made a good score at our local St.Vincent store.

I purchased a (almost) full roll (one pound) of Silver Solder

All-State 430, the box looks pretty old, and when melted I didn't see signs of it having a core.

I was wondering if it's something a local jewelry store/dealer would be interested in it?

Edit.. I see I forgot one important detail! I paid 50 cents for it.
also, after I posted this I used a file and filed more than 1/2 thru the end and I can see that it's SOLID, no acid core.
