What is your opinion on Buck’s Bucklite Max series of rubber handled fixed blades? Does the rubber hold up well?

I don't know durability. I do note that the older style handle (like the 673) was made with AlcrynŽ MPR rubber. The newer handles (like the 674) are Dynaflex rubber. I do have a 673 but haven't used it yet.

Looks like you can still get a 673 at a closeout price - $18 plus shipping.

The jimping on the blade is pretty decent, no sharp edges there. The handle material is decent, but it's rubberish and could take a beating after extended use in the field, time will tell. The grip is a little thin, but if they made thicker or out of a stronger material, that would increase costs on a budget knife.

I owned the 4" bucklite max 2.

Decent ergos, nice blade shape, useful size.

With a knife like this for $25, there's no reason for anyone to buy chinese pot metal knives.

The sheath sucks, but is usable. That's my only criticism.

Knifeworks has it on sale right now...
