Cliff Nieporte, I use a 8 lbs. maul and if that won't split it I switch to metal wedges and a sledge hammer.

I picked up a BAHCO 30" ERGO to replace my old bow saw, as it was getting a lil worn and wobbley after 20 yrs and i have no idea of how many blades. under 30$ saw didnt hurt the wallet that bad either.
