Default Laurens County Deputy died after Brief illness

Got a call tonight that one of my friends from working at LCSO passed away. He went to the Doc for Flu like symptoms, got a shot, went home and had an allergic reaction. Sudden Cardiac Arrest.
Keep them in your prayers. Larry Young was the DARE Officer. Super guy. Loved the kids and they loved him.
It's gonna be a tough week!

I apologize in advance if I'm wrong, especially given the circumstances, but I'm confused here. Your username has "medic" in it, but you're claiming death due to a Tamiflu injection. Tamiflu is administered orally. Is there a new shot form out there now?

Not 100% on that. Just what a deputy that was on shift said. He responded to the call, because he was the duty officer. I tried to edit the title, but it wouldn't let me. Couldn't Reggie it. Just the body.
Anyway, he got meds, suffered Sudden Cardiac Arrest at home, not long after he left his doc. Usually anaphylaxis is much faster. The SO page says much less than the duty officer did.

my condolences to Friends and family of Deputy Larry Young. I truly hope that they all can find peace in their hours of grief and sorrow, not in the pain of his loss, but the remembrance of the caring and and love he bestowed upon others.

That is strange and sad. When I was in medical school a college student came into the ER with a strep throat. They gave him a shot of PCN and he died right there in the ER from anaphylaxis. They couldn't save him. No history of allergies. That made me respect allergic reactions. My condolences.

Same with Larry, no HX. Usually as healthy as a horse! I'm just glad I don't work in County anymore. I was seeing too many friends and calling too many codes. The final straw, the reason I moved a county over, was when I called a code on a mentor. He was in my Fd, my banker, my neighbor, knew my family as well as I did. I had to call his Son and Grandson(both friends of mine and LEO's) and tell them to come to town ASAP.
I went a county over, still live here. Work is easier, and less stressful.
