Rome is on the other side of Jordan Valley. It's a pretty small community. Jordan Valley would be the nearest town and it's quite small. Think of the area like a high plains desert. Lots of sage brush. I live on the other side of Malhuer county.

Does anything grow there, trees or crop wise? Any idea how deep a well would need to be?

Google "Oregon Well Logs" if there are any in the area it gives info on depth, flow rates, date drilled and such. Other states have similar resources.
