Default Opinion: The 40 S&W Needs To Go Away

Dear 40 S&W, it is time for you to retire. I hate to break the news to you, but you were a mistake. No child wants to hear they were a mistake. However, since your core is lead and you are dense anyway, I am going to tell you about your family history.

Your parents, (the FBI) were thinking about adopting a child. The 10mm, 41 Action Express, 9mm and the 45 acp were up for adoption. Your parents, being the spoiled brats they are, decided going with something already on the market was not good enough for them. The FBI felt they needed to split hairs. They wanted something larger than the 9mm, but more capacity than the 45 acp.

Opinions are like *******s, everyone has one. Usually it's the 9mm fanboys that get their panties all in a bunch and start whining. The 45 ACP fans don't care if you like or dislike it. As to my opinion, I like the 45 and the 40. I tolerate the 9 and 38 Spec.

Just like the 30-30 needs to go away since it's an outdated cartridge and an outdated platform. I mean, with all the semi-auto's and really nice bolt-action rifles out there, who really needs a lever-action these days anyway?

Oh yeah--- ME! (Actually, it's a 32 Win Spl. that I cast and paper-patch for that will drive 170gr lead at 2300fps into 100-yard cloverleaf groups all day long. Just like the 40S&W that rides on my hip every waking moment that I can carve consistent ragged holes magazine after magazine with at 20 yards with either hand and regularly demonstrate that I can hit center-of-mass at 100-125 yards on demand with, laying to rest the notion that I am not out-distanced easily. You mean THAT 40S&W needs to go away? Come take it, jack-ass.

Dear Outdoor.com

You are irrelevant click bait stirring a pot. The .40 has a massive following, probably tens of millions of carriers. Including myself.

.40 ain't going anywhere.

Granted 9mm is a great cartridge and so is .45acp.
