I have Consumer Cellular, they have a plan that is 25GB of Data for $40. I needed a phone that would go to remote locations without having to drive 2 miles for an emergency Mint would not work where I needed it to be. Consumer Cellular does work.

Also I checked their other Data plans, 500mb is $5 a month, 3GB is $10 a month, 15GB is 30 a month, and 25GB is $40 a month. alll of their talk and text is free when you buy the Data.

They unfortunately use T-mobile as their carrier. I get lousy T-mobile reception where I live regardless of what their coverage map proclaims. Otherwise their latest 3 month at $45 ($15/mo) 12GB 4G-LTE unlimited offer would be great. It would even work with my Netgear LTE modem according to their IMEI lookup.

I do like to see the prices coming down for Data and that hotspot usage is more acceptable than it used to be. Maybe some day I will not have to watch my data usage for net access like a hawk.

I'm quite happy with Consumer Cellular. Two phones for a total of $67 inc. taxes.

And they've automatically upped the data plan twice for free. We're at 15 Gigs now.

Plus a $5/mo. discount for being old....

I've used Mint at one point in the last year. If you're in an area with heavy T-Mobile customer usage they'll have priority over you- meaning your data speeds may suffer. That said, I never experienced it during my time with them. If you pay by the year you get a pretty decent deal. The data speeds and voice/text I received on LTE, even in rural areas, was dependable. Also- Mint has Wifi calling/texting. So if you're in a spotty area but have access to wifi internet (ex: in a building, in your home) you can still utilize your service.

No complaints from me. Keep an eye on offers they have around Christmas/New Year and you might find a pretty good deal.

I went with the one that was mentioned on one thread here. Visible. Used the poster's referral code, Got 1st month for $20, $40 per month after. Got cheap phone for $20. Unlimited talk, text, data using Verizon towers. Much better than my former MetroPCS.
