Yeah another fix for an non issue(over penetration) and an expensive fix at that.

FWIW I'm a fan of copper slugs. I shot a doe (this season) full frontal with a Remington 20 gauge cooper solid and it broke the front shoulder took out the top of the heart, right lung and liquefied the liver. I got the slug back from the processor and not only did it fully expand but it held together. At $4.00 a slug a bit expensive but one shot kills are worth it.

Looks similar to the R.I.P. hand gun rounds.

Not so much for deer hunting maybe?

Quote:
Above is their 1.25oz 1600fps all-copper slug designed to expand to an incredible 2.5″ and penetrate just enough to punch through a hostile human with little energy left to harm anyone downrange. If you’ve ever heard the expression: “a hole big enough to toss a cat through,” consider that cats can fit any opening larger than their heads, and smaller breeds have heads under 2.5″ in circumference.

Always a concern - I try to go for shots into the ribs behind the shoulders - course when a slug is already what 3 / 4 inch how much expansion do ya need on game

Holy cow $$$ . Why they dragging poor kitty into it? Seriously, I love the good old copper solids for deer. I even got a half dozen in the 20 bore next to the bed. Those do look impressive, especially the 2 1/4oz 12s. It's only money. I can always work some OT...

dang. Im a brass freak. I will have to have a box of those just to have. put em in my box of "special application" ammunition. when they coming out? looking at the material I would hazard a guess bare minimum 65 to 85$ a box of 3rounds...... copper hurts to buy and 360 brass aint exactly cheap, not including the price of CNC machine work on the shell.....
