Default Yoder's Bacon

It is my understanding that they put 3 to 4 pounds of bacon (up to fifty slices) in each can. Doesn't this have to be refrigerated after you open it? How could you preserve it if it was a grid down scenario? That would be an awful lot of bacon to have to eat right away.

Fifty slices of bacon wouldn't last too long around me.


Actually I wondered about that myself.

Well, you really need to research the product. 50 slices? Yes. Slices what you are used to? No. The can weight should clue you in. 9oz. Thats not a lot. Cooked, yes, but easily consumed within a meal or two so not sure storing it overnight would be an issue.

There is quite a bit in the cans but not so much that you have to worry about it going bad. If I remember right I made four thick sammiches with the last can. Pretty tasty too.

This too. The first time I canned it I used wax paper between the slices. I should have just threw it in there and canned it since it all falls apart after you open it anyways.
