usually they fly at the living room windows full speed and it sounds like a baseball hitting the window, but eventually they will stop when they break their head.

There is a hedge directly in front of this window, so he can't get a running start.

I sprayed some stinky all purpose animal repellant on the hedge, but to no effect.

Stupid bird is driving me crazy.
I have had a redbird (male Cardinal) doing this to my laundry room window all Spring. All day, all Spring. The window has a Wisteria covered patio adjoining. At some point this Spring it eventually gave up. I just ignored it. One good thing I learned from marriage!

Can't remember now if it was an owl or a falcon... just remember that it worked.

Places like Ace Hardware and gardening stores sell fake owls that are supposed to scare crows, etc. in veggie patches. Perhaps this would work, and perhaps HOA wouldn't mind something like this outside, since they don't look bad from the street.

I had one sitting on the rear wiper of my SUV pecking the window to death.. at his reflection. It did it for a few days and gave up, or broke his beak.

It's most likely attacking it's reflection due to a territorial instinct. Cut out some card board to fit the window, spray paint it white to kill the reflection & stuff it in up close to the glass.

I leaned the black plastic engine beauty cover from the Honda against the window and it seems to be doing the trick. Only heard a couple more pecks after that. Course it started raining, so another variable changed.

I don't know why they put those useless beauty covers on engines. It was held in place with 4 rubber grommets that would pop out and get lost when the cover was removed. Finally got sick of fooling with it. Serves no purpose that I can see.

Wow, a used one fetches $75 on Ebay.

He moved his window pecking to the upper arch of the window.
Relentless freakin bird.

I stuffed 2 rolls of paper towels above the blind and that seems to have stymied him.

I have a few woodpeckers that hammer the heck out of my pecan tree.
One has the big head, and the other one is smaller.
