Does anyone else use quicken? I bought it last year, dont know why I keep doing that cause I never keep my financial info totally up to date. Anyways, I p[lay with it. I hated the way it automatically logged into my bank acct everyday, even tho I refused to use their cloud servers. I called one time and actually got call back from presidents secretary and complained, to no avail. But now my year has run out. No worries, right. I just manually download QXF, QIF file and import them to stay current with my bank. Guess what, if you let your subscription run out, it wont let you run the downloaded transactions updates, says you have to renew subscription. Am I missing something? This is quicken 2018.

I use Excel to manage my business accounts and then for taxes at end of year. Some banks don't like to give you a year end electronic statement. By electronic, I mean a _.csv or .xls. they provide a .pdf file that often is just an image. So I manually download monthly statements from CC and checking.

The banks want you to buy into the quicken scheme. It really is not all that good in sorting expense categories. I end up fixing it all using excel in the end.

I liked Microsoft Money better, but that doesn't exist anymore. I don't really like Quicken, but since that is all I have and I do most of my financial stuff manually it isn't too bad. The main reasons I use financial software to begin with is for the ability to run reports quickly and have all of my information in one spot without taking up a large area of my office space.

Edited to Add:
I never gave Quicken any of the login information to any of my accounts. I won't allow a computer program to have access to anything whenever it wants. I don't know who programed the software and I sure don't know what they put in the software.

Once a week, out of the blue, some telemarketer calls me to ask if I use Quick Books. That's all they ask. Not Hi I am Bob from XYZ company, we do accounting, etc. Just do you use Quick Books.

I use Quick hang up for them.

What is with these people? Why would I volunteer how I do my accounting?

Then the Google SEO calls. Apparently they will optimize my webpage because it is so shoddy.

I liked MS Money better as well. I found a program called Moneyspire 2019 I am trying. It does what I need so far, but the free version is fixin to kick in so I will see in 10 days if I want to purchase full version or get by with free home version or kick it to da curb!

I’ve used quicken for 30 years. I wouldn’t be without
it. Mine only logs on to my bank account when I tell it to do so.

You can still use Microsoft Money. It's free. https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/down....aspx?id=20738

Of course, there's no support, and I don't believe any of the electronic features (like connecting to your bank) work. But I use it simply to keep track of my finances and enter in receipts. Works nicely for me.

I removed all the default categories and simply created the ones I want.

We use Quickbooks at church and I don't care for it.
