Picked one up and going test it out. So far it's not horrible and kinda of interesting how it works.

I used to have a bathroom clock that worked with water.

Eventually there was gunk that built inside the water container and the metal surfaces corroded so much that they came loose, thus clock no longer works. But it was free and worked for almost ten years. Recharge was simple, just drain water and fill again with tap water.

It is not the brightest light in that video but definitely better than nothing.

How does that possibly work? The electrolyte must get used up after a while and it become useless.
