Hey from MI, thumb area. been creepin n peepin, decided to join and participate rather than just read. been a prepper for a while, served in the Army as well.

Was a water well driller for about 17 years, if you have any questions regarding well water do feel free to PM me. not much to brag about but I am also a state certified mechanic. If you're having vehicular issues feel free to ask about them as well. I like to tinker with guns as well, if you're having malfunctions, again, feel free to ask me anything. I'd like to help the community as much as possible.

Areas I'm lacking... canning... never learned it, just got back in touch with my father after 18 years of no communication, I have every intention of having him teach me the ropes on canning foods. I'm a little late on gardening this year, new area, new house, big plans, not enough money or time this year. Next year will definitely be better as far as gardening goes.

not quite sure what else to put here... I guess expect some input on threads with questions you may have, I will try to stay as active as possible. I have 4 kids, life gets in the way of hobbies! lol

Thanks for having a forum with what seems to be cool people with tons of information and very few trolls from what I see so far, hard to make them all go away.

Welcome! Take full advantage of gardening down there in Detroit. Up here our growing season starts 3 weeks later and ends 3 weeks earlier. My POS father in law is harvesting stuff before I can even plant many years.

Welcome to the board.

Was just in Michigan on a road trip. Missed going to the Thumb. Two things I wanted to do there was visit The Farm restaurant and paddle to Turnip Rock.

Howdy from Jawja.

Canning is actually pretty easy, just have to have everything super clean, re-heat your jars before filling them with whatever you're canning, which should also be hot when you load it into the jars (otherwise even Mason jars will crack when you put them in the HOT water of the canner).

Learn the steps, take it slow and do it right and you can have beans in the middle of winter that are FAR superior to those you buy in the store. When you get ready - PM me and I'll send a recipe for Pinto Beans that has been well received in our AO.
