Default Good morning from Salt Lake City, Utah

Hi, glad to be here and I hope to learn some useful new things here and can maybe share some things I've learned over the years.

I grew up in Washington & Idaho, and did a lot of camping and fishing. Hubby is Canadian and he grew up all over North, Central, and South America; not camping per se but learned about roughing it in other ways. We're both old and decrepit now(feels like anyway), and looking to see how we can improve on our preparations and training the kids (who are more interested in their phones and wouldn't recognize an emergency until the Internet went down).

I grew up in Washington. What is it like living around Mormons? SLC only has around 40% Mormon. My wife and I are in our mid-70's.

Welcome to the site. Lots to talk about ranging from sea salt to Trump to .22LR to rabbit stew to living in a cave. Never a dull moment.

I lived in Logan and, later, Ogden. LOTS of Mormons. My first wife was a Mormon. They were actually pretty moral and peaceful. Didn't agree with their religion but I liked the ones I met.

Mormons seem to be prepared for general disaster more than any other group of people I've met, barring preparedness junkies of course. Food, water, medicine, sometimes guns and ammo, it's part of the culture.

Welcome. I'd be very curious to know anything relevant prepper-related about SLC and Utah in general.

It's on my short list of moving destinations this fall.

Do share!

TSB1988, welcome to Utah, Iím a few hours south east of you.

Even if you arenít Mormon, you can get the stuff the church has for preparedness, there are check lists, how-to things, recipes, ideas, and of course there are lots of storage items and tools available in the area.

If it gets too hot and stuffy down there, just head east up I-80, past Parleys Canyon and Park City, Utah becomes a whole different place.

Seriously? You tell us all the time that you KNOW what itís like, you live in Mormon based Idaho, you even claim to have been a Mormon.
And you ask leading questions like that?

Stop trolling.
