Default If You Can't Have A 10MM .357 Magnum Ain't Bad

I recently acquired this excellent condition Dan Wesson Model 15-2 VH-8 .357 (8 inch barrel) to go with my 15-2 V-6 (6 inch barrel). Im a 10MM Glock guy but the price was just too good to pass up and I figure it's always good to have a couple revolvers around in case we get hit with an EMP.

Why get a .357 Magnum revolver when you can get a 10mm Magnum revolver?

I enjoy collecting these older Dan Wesson revolvers with removeable/interchangeable barrels. I can change the barrels and shrouds on these guns in less than a minute going from 2 inch all the way to 14 inch barrels (If you can find the barrels/shrouds). They just don't make firearms to the same level of craftsmanship today. Of course if I need to put something on 2 or 4 legs on the ground a 10MM Glock is the better choice but these old guns have a different purpose.

I like the 357's. Not a fan of the longer barrels on handguns though. 2"- 4" is the sweet spot for me.

Never really saw the point to the 10mm or 40 S&W for that matter. Those in a revolver seem even more pointless.

You didn't know? All semi-autos are vulnerable to an EMP, especially Glocks.

Same here, I had a few in the longer barrel lengths and they went away. Kept the 4" and am happy with it. I remember back when Dan Wessons were a fairly common sight under the glass at the LGS. Never bit because the interchangeable barrel thing seemed to much like a gimmick.

The point of modern 10mm Auto is to get similar results to .357 Magnum in an auto loader, which it does that well.

10mm Auto and 10mm Magnum are not the same cartridge though, 10mm Magnum is roughly the equivalent to some of the lower powered .41 Magnum loads, although 10mm Magnum is not nearly as common.

Nice guns. EMPs are more worser on revolvers though. The Carrington event killed/wounded many cowboys, military, and Leo. Some scientist/historians link the mass revolver discharges directly to the lead up of the Great Plains Fires of 1859.

Meh, ok my thread title was clickbait but this isn't really a caliber thread it's a late 70's early 80's Monson Mass. factory produced Dan Wesson revolver thread.

If they'd only had Faraday holsters back in1859. That whole tragedy could have been avoided.
