I thought I'd start a thread where we can post any links that pertain to the quickening of our country's demise. Things have been heating up very rapidly over the last 6 months and it seems this momentum is only building. As fellow saffers and preppers I thought it would be nice to share any info we come across that will keep us all well informed and our fingers on the pulse. Timing will mean EVERYTHING and getting out of dodge or getting those "last few preps" in time is vital to our survival.

So any articles, opinion pieces etc that you feel is important and can keep us all "dialled in" can be posted here. Consider it a "one stop thread" with all the latest up to date information from news sources that we don't all get to read or may miss.

This is not a PREPS thread, it's a NEWS thread.

Brilliant thread, I've also notice that things are going south at a rapid pace, I'm sure we'll see something big go down before the end of this year.

Seems the head of Eskom does not know what the body is doing.

"Nersa had possession of a concerning letter from Eskom to Treasury as well as a report from the power utility that showed worrying signs about the longevity of Eskom’s fleet of power stations, which Molefe had not seen before. They compromised to let him see the documents and to respond later in the day."

You would have to watch the video to appreciate this embarrassing moment.

We were warned of Al-Bashir's arrest obligations before he arrived, twice!

http://www.politicsweb.co.za/politic...d--james-selfe

Quote:
It is not as if President Al-Bashir arrived unexpectedly. On 28 May, the Registrar of the ICC reminded the South African Embassy in the Hague of our obligation to arrest Al-Bashir if he arrived here. On 13 June – the same day Al-Bashir arrived here – the Registrar was directed to formally inform the “competent authorities” in South Africa of that obligation. Yet the “competent authorities” sat on their hands.
But what is far worse is that this government did not merely lift its middle finger to its international obligations, in defiance of section 231(4) of the Constitution, it did so to our own Courts. The Gauteng High Court handed down an order prohibiting President Al-Bashir from leaving the country.
And yet he left and all sorts of people apparently colluded to circumvent it.
Al-Bashir’s jet was moved to Waterkloof AFB and hidden in a hanger. Al-Bashir was apparently escorted there by President Zuma’s Protection Team so he could escape arrest.
The Ministers in the Security Cluster reportedly had a meeting on 8 June to plan for this contingency. The Border Control Operational Coordinating Committee was told in an SMS to give instructions to all border posts. There can be no doubt at all that government colluded to defy the ICC and our Courts.
And this coming from a former ANC figure, who knows the ANC's modus operandi...

http://www.politicsweb.co.za/politic...-the-icc--cope

Quote:
The Public Protector and the Judiciary are under attack because they rigorously uphold the law. The ruling party is often on the receiving side because it frequently transgresses the law and continuously weakens the rule of law.
COPE warned about this from 2008. Today, therefore, we are more resolved than ever, to defend Chapter Nine Institutions and the Judiciary from the ruling party onslaught against them. We must remember what Hitler did in Germany and never allow the attrition of law by a ruling party to go unchallenged. It is not the ICC that is dangerous but Mantashe and the ruling party. They are extremely dangerous to the continuation of the rule of law in a constitutional dispensation.
And it seems the ANC will now be withdrawing from the ICC. When the ANC openly acts against local and international law and then openly displays it's intentions by forming allies with meglamaniac, genocidal tyrants and overtly moves away from institutions that are opposed to these individuals, we can be sure what is about to follow.

Nunu, this should be worthy of reading with regards to your questions about the march on 19 August. The divisions are already there and the march is still in it's preparation stage.

I look for the ANC to work behind the scenes and send some of its cronies in to stir up violence and then blame it on the leaders involved as inciting a violent riot. If it becomes violent that is probably how it will be done.

Nunu, that ball shaking feeling about Eskom.....is accurate.

http://www.fin24.com/Economy/Eskom/O...alyst-20150624

Quote:
Johannesburg - There is a more than 50% chance that the country's energy grid will suffer a total collapse soon, energy analyst Ted Blom said on Wednesday.

"I believe that the probability of a grid meltdown is more than 50%," he told a National Energy Regulator of SA (Nersa) panel at a public hearing in Johannesburg on Eskom's application for a further hike in tariffs.

"A total grid collapse is what we don't want to face because it will take you anything between a week and two weeks to recover, and I'm not even talking about the mayhem that will occur in the meantime."

He said this was a topic that had been treated quietly until last Wednesday, where Eskom said there was a zero possibility of a grid collapse.

Blom then gave the rundown of his reasoning.
That is saying it is more likely than possible.

It seems that News24 is playing the censorship game again. I found a copy of the article here: Regime Change Movement, Against BRICS and Nuclear Power, Is ‘Marching to Pretoria’

Also read one of his previous contributions here: No to British Regime Change in South Africa!

This guy actually sounds very much like an anti colonialist, ANC apologist to me.

Lack of energy is a problem in SA.

Wait till the water crisis really starts to bite, and the food shortage- KZN are in severe drought, water reservoirs are all but depleted and SA is now a gross importer of maize.

I recon when the food is gone, then we will see some protests- met eish, ja.

Hmm, I have had a good read and it appears that the article is a type of thing with which I am familiar. Let's say that it represents a type of paranoid reasoning which saturates the ANC.

The chap appears to me to clearly be an ANC fanatic, the article seems to be written under instruction with a clear goal in mind - namely the setting of a stage for a later play, and it has revealed the ANC's angle. Having made the very last point, I should add that you may expect the ANC's actual reactions to be tangential to what this chappie has written; they are not going to mimic what he wrote.

However, there is no doubt that the author has a point. We would have had to have not possessed wisdom, not observed the general shenanigans of general politics over the courses of our lifetimes, never researched CIA assassinations on the internet, not read Henry Kissinger or Niccolo Machiavelli, and never watched Blacklist or House of Cards to fail to appreciate that there is always a hidden hand, that there are always ruthless interest groups, and that politics is always sinister and never altruistic or benevolent. Therefore, it is an absolute certainty that there will be clandestine forces manipulating almost every major political development in South Africa whenever they can do so.

Given the perpetual vulnerability of the Suez Canal and our possession of the Cape sea route, South Africa's possession of the largest proven reserves of gold in the world - albeit no longer easily or cheaply accessible - and the fact that Russia controls the next largest reserves, not to mention our platinum group metals, we'd have to be as daft as liberals who have fallen into the trap of being persuaded that intellectualism (pure ability to assimilate knowledge) is a better substitute for intelligence if we believed that there aren't menacing possibilities in a march composed of the actors in question. Too many of them are paid by, loyal to, or under the influence of numerous powerful international forces who'd jump at the chance to exploit any machinations against our government. Our government threatens the interests of almost anyone you care to mention on the right-hand-side of the eco-socio-political spectrum, both here and beyond our shores.

If that march's cachet, its status, significance, or prestige, in other words its threat to the government, continues to increase, and it is foreseen to be about to pass off to great effect, the ANC government will - and I state this as a matter of fact not opinion - have to do something about it. The ANC simply cannot allow what it perceives to be the agitations of its enemies to go uncontested. Be those enemies, or perceived enemies, but I am in the author's camp on this one, the Council on Foreign Relations, the Bilderberg Group, the west, Anglo American, white South Africans, Afrikaners, white capital, international finance based in London, multinational corporations spearheaded by the gung-ho and brash modern United States business community, or the CIA, it is simply not the African way to be patient and play the long game in these affairs. Perhaps rightly so, and perhaps Africans are not alone in that characteristic, but that is neither here nor there.

Quite apart from the fact that the author is certifiably mad, I agree with almost every word of the article.

Yes, Louie and I chatted about that and came to a similar conclusion. It is just an obvious tactic though that one wonders whether it could all be so simple and straightforward. Let's see what happens.
