what would they be? I've been looking into survivalist stuff and my dh has suggested I look into writing and trying to sell a survivalist novel. I feel like I need to read some good ones first.

I love the Stand (until the end) by Steven King and really liked The Road with Viggo Mortenson, so something similar to these would be great.

Thanks all.

World Made by Hand. I think it is part of a three book series. All the ones already mentioned also. There is a zombie book, Day by Day Armegeddon, and now there is a sequel. Quick reads, but fun, and have useful info.

I liked "Sneak Attack" by clifford Moody.

I also like "The Change Series" by S. M. Stirling. Good battle dialoge in these books.

For anyone that hasn't read it, it's a great read. Not a survivalist novel but a really good down to earth book. The nuclear weapon detonations are just a cool bonus

Alas Babylon is one of my favorites.
The Road was pretty good.
World War Z was harder to follow for me because of the way it was written, but still really good.

Just finished Lucifer's Hammer. Quite a good read and really seems to have inspired a number of later books and movies.
