13,386 Steps

This day was not as good as the previous few. We had light rain, both in the early morning and again in the evening... which are my prime walking times.

It was actually storming this morning (Saturday) and it is supposed to rain off and on all day. So today will probably be light as well.

I did a long walkabout in the evening this day, to help make up for the lost walk time this morning due to rain.

9,922 Steps
4.25 Miles

Definitely an off-day, the weather conditions were hot and humid and generally unpleasant for outdoors activity.

I did have a little more distance than what was recorded, because I had to take my FitBit off so it could recharge. I typically recharge it overnight on Sunday, but this time it started nagging me late-afternoon.

I haven't given up on this, I just haven't been motivated to keep after it on a daily basis for quite a while now.

I had a doctor's appointment today and, among other things, he prescribed an anxiety medication. I am hoping that it will help get me motivated to start doing things for myself again.

The cooler weather we have now should help too.

Well, I haven't posted here in a very long while (obviously).

Turns out the anxiety med the Doc prescribed for me kind of turned me into a veg... Not completely, of course, I still retained all my mental faculties. But I found that I just lacked the motivation to really do much of anything. I definitely felt "better", regarding the anxiety issues, but the price was a distinct lack of motivation.

A few weeks ago I decided that enough was enough, and I resolved to get off the stuff. I began weaning myself off the med and last weekend I stopped taking it completely.

A few days later, I started noticing this odd sensation of brief bouts of dizziness, and also sometimes it felt like my whole face was tingling. It was very strange and at first I wondered if maybe I was coming down with the virus...

But then I had a revelation and did some research online. Turns out, what I was experiencing was exactly the side-effects to be expected when coming off this anxiety med (Lexapro).

Anyway, I already feel a little more like my normal self, and I am looking forward to getting even better. Hopefully, I will soon be back to posting Fitbit stats here.

Thanks!

I'm not really a gym kind of person, I prefer to just get outside here in my own area and at least walk, if not run. I used to run all the time, before my ankle surgery.

Now that warm weather is approaching, I'm going to have to go back to doing my physical activity before dawn again. I used to always do it before dawn, before I retired from the Army, because that was the only time I could. Being military, I always had to be at work extra-early.

Of course, getting out before dawn means that I'm going to have to stop staying up so late the night before. Which is another bad habit I fell into after retiring...
