Are there any recommendations for a state that is gun friendly, low-taxes, not susceptible to sinkholes or other crazies?

I just want to buy some land, build a homestead and live my life without being taxed to death.

What is your profession, wife?
How old are you?
What type of area are you in now, population? Culture shock is real.
One big problem some people have is they find a new area they like, move in and proceed to try and change it to be like the area they left, don't do that!
What are you looking for, what is your realistic ideal?

I just moved to southern Utah and love it. No tornadoes or hurricanes or tsunamis. No major flooding. There was a small earthquake recently but nothing like the California variety. Low price of living. Gun friendly. I left Denver and will NEVER return. I'm happy here.

They say that Texas will be Demorat by 2024. Sorry to hear it and not sure if that's a fact but I heard it from more than one source. Oklahoma is a good state for the time being but susceptible to tornadoes from what I hear.

Come to WV. Good gun laws, low taxes and lots of open space.
We need to build defenses since we will be a battleground state as the first line between Communist MD, NoVA and DC to the other Free States to the West and South.

I'm in the Missouri Ozarks. Mo is a Constitutional carry state. I also have 5.5 acres in south-central Tn just above the Mississippi line, (just outside of Savannah), that I have for sale.

Kentucky, just across the Ohio. Constitutional carry, fairly low taxes, fertile ground and the best foraging area in the World!

Yes, that is what is predicted. I had a NPR audio that said 25% of the kids in TX have illegals for parents. Lost access to the audio when the Internet Archive banned me.

There is no place safe as dems spread like cancer.

I bugged out of NYC at the first sign of virus. No plan to go back. I'm in the rustbelt, about 6 hours out of NYC. But things could be hell here too. We are only as safe as the next election.

Nebraska is gun friendly and reasonably safe from Demo over-influence, so long as you stay west of the Omaha area and maybe Lincoln. Taxes are lower than other states but not absent. Class III was legal last time I knew and they accept other states' CCWs. Conservative overall unless you count State Senator Ernie Chambers, who's an aging Black Panther liberal.

Southern part of the state would probably suit better as far as attitudes and weather, etc. Also better for homesteading as such.

DON'T move to ALASKA, it sucks. Packed solid with humans, and Grizzly Bears everywhere. All Firearms and all knives (except one short butter knife) are illegal. Alaska is a awful place. Always bitter cold, below zero, and everyone lives in Igloo's. Plus China is preparing to invade Alaska.

Don't worry about Alaska getting crowded
Three straight years of population decline
For obvious real reasons
It is low on most people's list of places to move to
If anything, you should hope that people would want to move there in spite of it being Alaska
