I got to learn about this the hard way today during work as an EMT. It wan't something that I knew about until I googled it on the way to the call, and not something the ER knew up either.

Anyway, I know a lot of people here are into alternative things like this but I at least didn't know how bad this stuff can be in small doses.

Main take away, its a very potent central nervous system depressant in small amounts 5ML or less with no antidote.

And according to four year olds...its "Yummy"

I have really gotten away from oils since I found out they are very bad for house cats.

it's highly toxic. So much so, that I can't even put it on my skin (it's in a lot of new repellents), without it burning my skin. My grandmother used to have the pretty, sweet smelling flowers on her plants. We were taught at a very young age not to mess with them.

Belies the "its natural - it can't harm you" mantra, doesn't it. Just because grandpa used kerosene to treat coughs doesn't mean grandpa knew diddly about what he was doing.

What was the final outcome of the call, if I may ask? Absent any personally identifiable patient info of course.
