Default Jarred Jam shelf life - store bought

Advertise Here

So we are in the process of making a major move to another state and are going through our stores. Not wanting of course to take anything that may not be so bad. I am speaking of jam. Not that I have bottled but like store bought jam. How long would that last? Id really rather not take it if I can help it since it is a lot and quite heavy!

Please and thank you!

If it hasn't been opened it should last indefinitely.
Even if it has, the high sugar content helps prevent spoilage, and it can be heated to kill any bacteria.

Jam does keep and it is versitile. You can use it in drinks, on cake, i just made some pancake syrup with jam and butter. It is heavy and breakable though. Moves are a good time to clear things out.
