I posted in another thread but it's old and I'm afraid it will just get lost. Does anyone have any tips or pointers for DIY woodworking and cabinetry that can be accomplished in a very rough survival situation?

Most of the videos I see show people with a workshop. However, if SHTF and I'm out in the wilderness with just an axe, hatchet, tree saw (foldable) and fixed blade knife I want to learn how to create furniture, etc... using just these tools.

Any links and or help is appreciated.

I for the life of me cannot remember the guy's name, but there are videos that I think first aired on PBS a number of years ago, of a true "survivalist" who set up a camera and filmed himself building a cabin, furniture, etc., using the most basic tools as you describe. I believe in Alaska, and WAY out in the boonies.

The biggest issue you will have is the joinery.

I believe the video you are looking for is called “Alone in the Wilderness”. The man is named Richard Proenneke”. He built a cabin and furniture with simple hand tools in the Alaskan wilderness. I have enjoyed his videos and books for years.
