This is my paranoia coming out... I can see in my minds eye a grand scheme, by the powers that be, to control the population by controlling how much they travel. They are doing this by allowing or facilitating certain events to happen globally that will raise the cost of fuel. By raising the cost of fuel, they raise the price of food and any other commodity that is needed to survive. By making everything more expensive they are able to limit how much we travel because we won't have any discretionary funds to do so. More people will be convinced that living in a city will be easier. Once they are in the cities they are easier to keep track of. They will be "reeducated" by the "civility" of city living; for example, one doesn't need to own a car because public transportation is cheaper and easier. Individual neighborhoods are easier to lock down in a SHTF scenario. By limiting the movements of the populace they have almost total control over the populace. They can control how much and what types of food you can get, how much electricity you use, when you can be on the streets, etc...

I don't see the correlation with the USA.

High gasoline prices and taxes in the UK do not necessarily mean the same will come any time soon to the USA.

That $150 tank of petrol is the price you pay for living in a socialist nation with fewer and fewer freedoms.

OK ok thats the UK price but, its a price coming your way sooner than you think

The UK goverment have plan's to increase the price AGAIN in the next budget in March

Forget rioting in Egypt the way fuel prices are going we'll be rioting here in the UK

As far as I know(Let me know if I am wrong), the United States relies on vehicles to get around more than any other country in the world. I have a feeling that most people will complain about the prices going up but eventually will just accept the high prices.
