what he is saying is that since we are all regulars here and exchange info, we are far out front of most people including the owner of the site in current events. Since kev obviously has much going on and doesn't read his former site as much. All of that is fine, but it just shows you that Kev is in full on business mode (awesome job!) and is not paying attention to the world events like we all are. He is laggin big time in reaction time and info.

If the Dem's are in.... It'll get worse.

Not saying "it'll all be back" but.... Much less demand. JMHO, but based on watching this both in and out of the industry for the last several go rounds.

actually it was precisely on point.
OP (kev) may not of paid attention, or he might just be posting to get us to do what we are doing right now.
Bastion of nothing, but I recommend a remedial reading comprehension class...
You should definitely work on context and comprehension. Would be a strong start instead of taking things out of context to make some sort of point.

Banking on things getting better is not personally one of my strategies. I may not disagree the odds seem to be that things will settle a bit, I am not banking on it. I can see way to many possibilities that things get worse, rather than in any way better.
Oh I'm not banking on anything. As you pointed out.... I've been at this a while and need nothing. Just predicting the most likely path based on the past.
Past doesn't repeat, but it rhymes.

I think we may be making history shortly. I will leave it at that.

Spent quite a bit of time looking for supplies today. Spoke with one supplier who said they are 3-5 weeks out, at least, with orders. Worked on a powder order. Primers are scarcer than the last time. .223/5.56 is getting scarcer.

That may be.
You can still get barrel and bolts.
(I'm on several waiting lists for $70 bolts. I don't want to pay $90x30.... But you can still get them.)

-barrels and bolts go first.
You can even still get (limited) lowers. (I expect it all to go by November. Hope so.)

Bigger demand, so that might be your "history" but the "new gun buyers" don't stack like we do.

If it looks more like trump might win.... Might set records. Too early to tell.

Personally I've long thought that past don't repeat, it don't rhyme, but it definitely argues with the present. But that's just me

I know that this dates me, but back in the day a standard ICU joke was "Our patient will never say, I wish I'd spent more time at the office". These days it's almost certainly going to be that the patient will never say "I wish I'd spent more time on social media".

What makes you think I do not read the site and/or do not pay attention? I read the news everyday, several times a day.

Here is the issue with your post:

I have years of seeds stockpiled. I can feed my friends and family for years just from my current seed stockpile without saving any seeds.

I have enough ammo stockpiled I could hunt for the rest of my life without ever buying another round.

Fishing gear - check

Food in mylar bags - check.

Food in #10 cans - check.

Live in a rural area - check.

Please explain what I am lagging behind. I am sure you will find something. Nobody is fully prepped for everything.

Over the last few months it's become very obvious to many of us that he doesn't read here much/lacks most of the knowledge that most of us take for granted of frequent viewers. Most of the threads he starts are just to churn clicks and he frequently doesn't read them.
I do not read "all" the threads I post.

Not even going to reply to the rest of your post. Not sure what you mean. You can go through my youtube videos over the past 10 years. I was farming, hunting, fishing, prepping decades before this forum was founded.

Obama, is that the best you can do?

I was at gun shows in Houston before the Assault Weapons Ban (AWB) took effect and saw the panic buying first hand. People were lined up for hundreds of yards before the doors opened. People were walking out with armloads of guns. I was there to pick up a few more AK, Mini-30 and AR mags.

I remember when George H.W. Bush banned various types of guns from import. SPAS 12 went from a few hundred dollars to thousands overnight.

Then there was Randy Weaver, Waco and Oklahoma City.

The types of panic buying we are currently witnessing I have seen on and off for over 30 years. It comes in waves every few years.

Even though I have thousands of rounds, I still feel a certain degree of uneasiness when there is civil unrest. I live in a rural area far removed from the any urban area. There is still a churning in my stomach when stuff like this happens.

Furthermore, I feel what we are seeing is only the start. Communism / fascism / socialism is being taught on a scale in our institutions of higher education that would horrify our ancestors.

This ideology of cancel culture scares the crap out of me. Youth today are willing to destroy people simply because their political opinion is different.

The leaks from the Trump White House should worry everyone. No president since probably Andrew Jackson has faced such fierce opposition at every turn.

Our courts are being used as a political weapon to grind to a halt republican presidents. It is not enough to fight president Trump at every turn, democrats have sought to remove Trump every chance they can.

There was an episode on Fox News the other day where someone from the White was talking to a Democrat member of congress. The person from the White House invited the member of congress to the White House to talk about certain issues. The Democrat said something along the lines of, "Not in a thousand years." It showed how Democrats refuse to work together.

Then there is the Democrat mindset that anyone who cooperates with the GOP commits treason against the party.

Unless something drastic changes the nation will face years of civil unrest. It is like a pressure cooker that has a stuck pressure release valve. Sooner or later it is going to blow.

What concerns me is if Trump wins reelection the unrest we see today will be nothing.

Rather than thinking about just today, I think about stuff that happened in the 1990s with Oklahoma City, and if the left is willing to take action like what McVeigh did. If Trump wins reelection, how far are members of the left willing to go to remove a so called "racist fascist president" from office. In their mind, they may justify their actions, just as McVeigh did.

The hate from the left historically knows no limits.

On top of that, will covid-19 come back in the fall / winter of 2020?

So while you are lambasting "bastion of TEOTWAKI knowledge", I continue to observe, think, consider and prep

Shopping here in Michigan I have seen and been told by many in stores that there is a supply chain problem and many things are on back order. At Menards we were told basic lumber and building supplies are very low stock and they expect this to continue for another year. The fact is there just isn't anything in the back anymore, what you see on the shelves is what they got and they have no way of knowing how long certain items will take to come back. Never thought I would see this in my lifetime.
