![]() I like sky line drive. They have multiple camp sites and there are tent only areas. Also they have the "back country" permits that you can basically camp anywhere you want.

![]() I'll second Green Ridge out in W. Md. for primitive camping and Elk Neck in Cecil Co. for nice tent camping .

![]() Definitely a nice place, primitive campsites, but most right along a dirt/gravel road so you will get some traffic at some of the campsites, but not all.
Next best place is to get a back country permit for the Appalachian Trail in Shenandoah NP. If you use Google Maps/Earth you might be able to find your own personal overlook somewhere, I have. |
