Question Possible Uses for Empty Snus Cans

Advertise Here

These tiny little cans are so cute but I could only think of one use for the bunches that I have acquired from a user. I filled each one with my pipe tobacco and intend on hiding them for SHTF days. They are metal of some kind and I have plenty more. Anyone got any ideas for usages? I don't have the courage to place cash or precious metals in them...well, maybe just a few, but I have lots of these.

I don't know what a "snus" container is: But if it's a small tin, then batteries, razor blades, medicines, vitamins, birth control, matches, field sewing kits, IR flashers, primers, .22LR ammo, coins.... a person could come up with 100 things.

It is a little tin about 3x4x1/2 which originally contains little pouches of ???snuff??? tobacco of some kind. They seal but I have not yet tested them of being water-proof. I am thinking they must be somewhat air tight or the "snuff" would dry out. Thank you so much for your thoughts.

I keep some of my old dip cans, their good for everything like nut and bolt storage to keeping .22 bullets in. I think the snus cans the op is referring to are kind like the Altiod mint containers little small metal boxes

All metal? Native American women want them!! (well the lids)
We wear regalia called jingle dresses. The "jingles" are created by rolling the lids into cone shapes and attaching 150-200 to a single dress.
Post them on EBAY as "snuff lids for jingle cones" and watch them disappear.

I use small cans like that to hold my homemade fire starter. I take cotton balls and saturate them with vaseline. They make great, light little fire starter helpers.

I use one for a tool kit on my 10/22 M1 Carbine clone. I use the butt stock pouch for two tins, One Altoids tin for a bore snake and a a Snuss tin that is a tool kit. Makes it easy to find if you’re out and about in need of a quick repair or changing up sights.

Put your loose change in them. That way when you get cancer you'll have some savings to pay for your first of many chemo treatments.

If I remember, there are 3 size cans. What I don’t remember is how airtight they are. Maybe Charcloth, twine and and a fire starter. Or a couple of Beetle Spin lures, a small bobber and fishing line.

I bought some plastic snuff cans many years ago. I use them to carry 22 lr ammo. I never trusted them to be water tight

Yea, the plastic ones are good for bait. Cope cans, which are made out of some sort of cardboard. The plastic ones are airtight enough to carry stink bait for catfish.

I don’t generally consider an emergency fishing kit to be something I would want to depend on if I need it, BUT, I did use a couple of these little cans for just that. About 25-30’ of line, a couple hooks, weights, and a couple of flies and jigs in each. I put one in my GHB and threw one in the glove box of each of our vehicles just in case. They don’t take up much room anyway, so why not?
