So my cousin stops by the farm to do some shooting last weekend. He has these new fangled electronic hearing protection. I try them and they are amazing. The gun shots are lowered to a very soft thump. But I can hear conversation perfectly. I can hear birds chirping, and the springs in the guns working. The bullet hitting the mud bank. He was like they are pretty cheap. He had the walkers so I got a set from Amazon for $40. But then I saw the 3m brand and got a set of the sport Tactical 100s. They were even better. So then I went and got a set of the 500s. I am a addicted now.

I’ve used the razor for several years. They’re excellent.

Good choice!

We have a few pairs of the Tactical Sport 500’s. Pretty darned nice & comfy as is.

Gel pads increases the comfort.

Don’t keep them bedside tho, as too long to turn on. Have turn switch types on the bedside stands. Less DB ratings, but good enough for indoors & also enhance non-gunshot sounds.

Nice feature of the 500’s is Bluetooth, use that for music when not group shooting/working around property.

Didn’t do the rechargeable lithium battery pack option, on ours. Have just been using bulk AA’s. Have some rechargeable NiMH’s inbound, will see how they hold up.

How many years have you had it? Still work? I always used the caveman muff as they are guaranteed to work for a very long time and can be refurbished at home if needed. I misplaced my old school Remington rated for 31dB, nobody sell muffs that good anyone. I think anything under 27dB is a risk for extended use just as packing ..22lr pistol; better than naked but just not sufficient.
