We seldom get to 32 degrees here. Last time it snowed was 2006 IIRC, it stayed on the ground less than a day

My son moved to Idaho, we went to go visit and I froze my ass off. I would probably acclimate but my wife won't move. She says we can move further south but I'm only 20 miles to the Gulf now!

Same with hurricanes, I take them in stride. I know I will be ready for the next one that comes up to see us. I expect us to lose power, that is a given. So far outages have been a few days or less. If my NG stays on, I'll have all the hot water I can use. But keep that quiet...

I'll be a few steps ahead of everyone for batteries, non-perishable food, kerosene, gasoline and propane.
No thanks on the cold. And I certainly don't know about 18" of snow!

But I agree with you on the hurricanes. I'm prepared just fine.

In fact I don't just take them in stride, I enjoy it a little. It's kinda fun watching everyone scramble for gasoline, food, and supplies while I watch from the couch knowing I have plenty of what I need.
